Viral Snacks, Real Opinions: What TikTok Has Us Craving (and Cringing) in 2025

Glass jar filled with cucumbers being pickled in brine, showcasing the process of homemade pickling.

If TikTok has taught us anything, it’s this: the line between genius and chaos is about one fruit roll-up away. And we are so here for it.

Whether it’s food ASMR, nostalgic mashups, or unhinged combinations that low-key slap, TikTok’s snack game is wild—and we’ve been watching (and occasionally judging) from the pool deck.

Here’s a breakdown of some of 2024’s biggest viral snack trends—and whether we’d actually serve them at Surrey.

Frozen tomato shaved like granita and served on toast or burrata, showcasing a creative and refreshing culinary presentation.

Tomato Ice Toast

What it is: Frozen tomato shaved like granita onto toast or burrata.
Vibes: Mediterranean farmer’s market meets science fair.
Verdict: High drama, low prep. We’d try this over burrata with olive oil and flaky salt for a refreshing Sonoma appetizer twist. Bonus points if you whisper “glacé de tomate” while serving.

Chamoy Pickle—a vibrant, tangy pickled snack coated in sweet and spicy chamoy sauce.

Chamoy Pickle

What it is: A dill pickle wrapped in candy powder, chamoy, Tajín, and sometimes a fruit roll-up. Stuffed with Takis.
Vibes: Chaos. Pure, neon chaos.
Verdict: Look... we’re not mad at it. But this one’s staying on TikTok. We like our pickles with pâté, not pain.

Sleepy Girl Mocktail—tart cherry juice with magnesium and seltzer—served in a coupe glass with a lavender sprig, perfect for relaxation and spa enjoyment.

Sleepy Girl Mocktail

What it is: Tart cherry juice + magnesium + seltzer.
Vibes: Melatonin but make it a vibe.
Verdict: Would totally serve this at the Surrey spa in a coupe glass with a lavender sprig. Maybe even rebrand it as “The Dream Spritz.”

Chickle—a dill pickle wrapped in a blanket of fried cheese—served sliced thin on a charcuterie board as an artisanal snack, perfect for keto or creative appetizers.

Chickle

What it is: A dill pickle wrapped in a blanket of fried cheese.
Vibes: Keto renaissance.
Verdict: We respect the commitment. Might serve this sliced thin on a charcuterie board and call it “artisanal.”

Tanghulu—traditional Chinese candied fruit on a stick with a shiny, glassy sugar shell, making for an ASMR-inspired sweet snack.

Tanghulu

What it is: Traditional Chinese candied fruit on a stick with a glassy sugar shell.
Vibes: ASMR dessert queen.
Verdict: We’re obsessed. If we had a Surrey candy cart, this would be front and center. Picture grapes, kiwi, and maybe even cherry tomatoes.

Scrambled Pancakes—pancakes chopped up while cooking and served like scrambled eggs, creating a cozy and chaotic breakfast-for-dinner vibe.

Scrambled Pancakes

What it is: Pancakes chopped up while cooking, served like scrambled eggs.
Vibes: Sunday morning meltdown.
Verdict: A little chaotic, a lot cozy. Could see it as a breakfast-for-dinner bar moment—just don’t serve it on your finest china.

Ramen Carbonara—spicy ramen cooked with egg, cream, and cheese, blending Italian and Japanese flavors for a cozy, late-night luxury snack.

Ramen Carbonara

What it is: Spicy ramen cooked with egg, cream, and cheese.
Vibes: Dorm room meets Rome.
Verdict: Yes. Absolutely yes. This one deserves a poolside noodle night. We’d add furikake and call it a late-night luxury snack.

Cereal Milk Latte—milk soaked in cereal and used in a latte, offering a sugar-fueled nostalgic twist for a brunch special or creative beverage.

Cereal Milk Latte

What it is: Milk soaked in cereal, then used in a latte.
Vibes: Sugar-fueled nostalgia.
Verdict: Not a Surrey standard, but maybe a brunch special with Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk. You’re welcome.

Quart-sized plastic deli container filled with hydrating, crunchy "Eating An Entire Cucumber" salad sliced with a mandoline and seasoned with MSG, embodying wellness-core vibes.

"Eating An Entire Cucumber" Salad

What it is: Sometimes you just need to eat an entire cucumber in a quart-sized plastic deli container sliced with a mandoline and MSG (obviously).
Vibes: Hydrating, crunchy wellness-core.
Verdict: I know a cucumber salad is nothing revolutionary, but I loved every bite.

Snack culture is real—and we’re into it.

Not all of these viral trends are going to end up on a Surrey board (looking at you, chamoy pickle), but we love seeing food become an experience again. A little weird, a little wonderful, and totally post-worthy.
